Neat work once again Hesh .

Why don't you try an alternative to the old popsicle brace idea . They have proven to be not very succesful over time and you'll have a neck reset on your hands .

Try a Lowden type A Frame or Flying buttress design like Dave White , Rick Turner and others use.A much better arrangement .

Please take no offence to my suggestion Hesh . Only trying to help . That's what the forum is all about rather than dish out meaningless compliments.

I'd like to be able to prove, just for once, that money wouldn't make me happy...

I'm doing a Myrtle OM at present which is also very thin. Around 2.2mm (.085").

I have the same concerns as you Hesh but approached it differently by throwing in a Mario brace out of Goncalo Alves.

It looks like your top is laying on one of those router pads that contain silicone. Careful, I ruined a finish with one of those. I left a lacquered guitar on one for a few days, and when I came back the pattern was permanently transfered to my guitar. No amount of polishing or sanding would fix it. Overspraying didn't help. Finally I sanded it back down to bare wood and refinished it. Next I gathered up all of my router pads and threw them in the trash.

Hesh...great looking top. And I can confirm from seeing his tops in person...there's no Photoshop magic associated with this clean and neat appearance.

On a different note...I also abhor the use of these pads around anything associated with guitar building.

And while it may not be the heavy duty router pad, it is nonetheless a molded foam elastomeric polymer. I have more than a little experience with the molding of such items and I can tell you, they use silicone on the molds to insure that they release easily from the mold or belts. I won't even use this stuff in a drawer as a padding to protect tools.

I would amplify the concern and warning to others who may wish to use this around guitar wood or tools. It's not worth the risk IMO.

In addition, avoid contact of your guitar with the rubber protector sections on guitar stands...plasticizers and release agents will bite into a finish in much the same way. I only use cotton, felt, wool and the like to hug my guitars when they're not in the arms of an informed recipient.
