I guess this topic could go along the lines of other 'what happens when you do this to a guitar design....?" this is my (basicly 'randomly' modded DM-9) design I did when I first started designing my molds. I think its ok, but Im wondering if its going to be too 'trebley' because it is a little more narrow at the lower bout, and waist than my Tacoma DM-9, but a bit longer. I thought that might make it more 'bassy' but with what Ive read in all this time, Im not sure this one will work out. Im a bit bummed. It was designed to fit my top wood spruce, so it was a bit more narrow than I would have liked. Is it too early to tell if its a plunker? Its kind of like an OM with a longer lower bout.  Sigh...Any opinions, educated guesses? Id almost like to do a cedar top on this because of the shape.

What depth are the sides?

It looks like it's about 1 1/2 inches longer and if it's OM width it would put it at around 15 inches so maybe close up the X brace a little to stiffen it along the grain, which should loosen it up cross grain.

There's still a fair bit of real estate south of the bridge so maybe consider a 12 fret neck to push the bridge a little further into the lower bout.

A dred has 8mm bracing and an OM 6mm bracing so try to apply what you know about the construction of a proven model to what you are trying to get out of this instrument.

Ultimately you won't know what it'll sound like until you construct it and then it will depend on lots of other factors other than the body shape. You may be pleasantly surprised if you put some thought into it.

Cheers
