Fantastic job! It has such an inviting look to it. The guitar just screams, "Play me!"

I'm grateful to everyone for the encouraging comments. The camaraderie and great info here on the OLF made it possible.

Here's a pic I forgot to post. Another first for me, putting purfling on the heel cap.

Colin,

I will do that, before I get back to the Terz I put aside to start this project.

JJ,

The inlay is gold MOP.

I did the glitter testing according (at least as well as I could interpret it) to Alan Carruth. I used the glitter to indicate the resonant frequencies of the top and back. I tuned the back to get it about the same as the top. Glued the plates to the rims and tweaked them again since putting them on the rim changed their frequencies. After the bridge went on, they ended up about a semi-tone apart, with the top lower, close enough for them to work together but not so close as to cause a wolf tone. The top is lower so that as it gets played in, it might end up a little further from the back's frequency, which is better than them ending up closer together over time, or worse yet, the same. The back really moves with the top. That's my simplified take on it, and I'm certainly open to corrections or other interpretations.

Lance, I am indeed proud, just so long nobody looks too close! Thanks!

Thanks for the wood Bob!

The koa and bamboo were central to the theme of this little sweetheart. My nephew, a good player, wanted his uncle to build something with meaning to me, so I went Hawaiian since my mom, three siblings and I were born there, and my nephew loves the surf there. It ships out next week.

Todd, funny you should ask. The hula girl was my mom in her youth!

Hesh, thanks, buddy.

Thanks, Lillian, Ron.

And thanks for all the other kind comments. You all were inspirations in one way or another.
