Hi All!
i was just asked by a friend if i'll be willing to take the finish + color of his cheap-o Ibanez and then re-finish it - give it the natural look.

anybody knows what Ibanez uses on their guitars? and better yet, any tricks for removing it other than just coarse sanding to bare wood?

Some of us use furniture stripper. It's nasty, but it really gets the job done. Rubber gloves and plenty of fresh air. Carbon filter, oh yeah....

If it that really thick acrylic stuff blast it with a propane torch and peal off the finish with a pallet knife.

Although, if they painted it black you probably don't want to see what's under there.
