I think our British bretheren can approve of this guitar. With the exception of the rosette and my initial there is no pearl! (Ok the side dots are pearl but they are small.)

Let me, the token Brit , say that is up to the usual Kinnaird standard, which is always mighty impressive. I particulrly like the colour repeat in the binding/purfling scheme, well thought out. Not quite gone cold turkey on the pearl, but I would still have been proud to have made it, as with all Kinnairds.

Bill, indeed we should do breakfast. There are other places to go equally interesting.

Ken, I don't really think the pyramids add anything to the sound. Just a retro cosmetic detail in my opinion.

Its good to hear that the burst on the neck works with the color of the guitar. (whew

Hey bro,
Quite handsome guitar you've got there!
I like the color scheme as well.
And that maple purfling line is to die for.
Is this the suff--of which--we need MORE?

One request: could you post a shot of the heel/side junction? I am curious how the burst on the heel looks against the body. (The last shot--in the case--almost gets the job done, but there is a shadow in the way...and the angle isn't rignt...and...)

Bro, just for you here is another heel side shot without shadows at a different angle. That maple line was from that maple veneer that we need lots more of but which, alas, will not be forthcoming.

Flamed maple bindings, side purflings, abalone rosette, pyramid bridge , BRW headplate, and nice body woods....

Yes indeed bro, one piece neck. I thought the dark heel matched the dark stripes in the coco pretty well and the more redish areas matched the redder parts of the cocobolo. At least that is my justification and I am sticking with it.

Grumpy, Somehow I don't consider wood as bling, whatever ornamention role it may take. But that does raise an interesting philosophical (aesthetics ya know) point about bling. In my book its unnaturally over the top stuff. (my old philosophy prof would slap me for saying that)

Anthony "bling light" is a great phrase worthy of enshrinement in the OLF lexicon next to the work zoot.

Very nice, John. The bindings and purfs are well executed as usual. I also like the bursted neck and the tinted top. It has a great retro-look and just begs to be held. That's one lucky customer!

Arnt that is an OM. I really like African Blackwood for bridges. It is black enough to match the fingerboard well, and you know it has that good rosewood clink, low impedence, and I think it adds to the tonal package. I don't have much patience for "opening up". I like the guitar to sound pretty darn good within an hour of getting strung up and this one fit that expectation well.

JJ I am glad to hear you use the words retro. I went after that look. I would have put some retro fretboard markers on it if the customer had allowed it.

Martin, being an Anglophile, that is definitely a compliment I respect.
