Paul, I'm an 80/20 fan, and would cast my vote for those IF others want them too. Otherwise I'd like the P/B at those prices. Again, 10 light, 10 medium. Hope that doesn't muddy the waters.

Steve

Steve, I'm assuming that everyone wants PB strings. But if you up your order to 12 of each we can definately put you in for 80/20 strings. Let me know. P

I'm pretty sure they ARE the major manufacturer. They supply strings to many of the "guitar" companies that also sell strings. Many don't make their own strings.

So who do they supply strings to? I am just trying to get an idea of what they sound like. I just got a whack of Firewire Strings but this price sure sounds good.

i've been using the for a long while and have asked walter who makes them but he wouldn't say. they sound much like d'addarios to me.

remember that with the exception of a few small makers like dr the vast majority of the quality strings you buy are made by five or six companies. darco used to be the largest and may still be with the backing of martin who has owned them for some years.. crazymanmichael38524.0941319444

I like d'addarios although I have gone to the Firewires which I like better and have been getting quite cheap. THink I'll get 10 sets of lights to try them out

Paul,
Is it too late to add 10 PB light sets?

I've never bought Euphonon strings myself but have a client that I turned onto this source. I've seen and heard the light gauge PB strings he sells and would compare them to D'addirio EJ-16's, however I never put calipers on them to see how they compare diameter wise.
The one thing I do know is that if you are buying in large bulk and they may sit around for more than a couple of months that you seal them up in an air tight container with a dessicant as these strings are not sealed when you recieve them and oxidation will take it's toll on tone and intonation. If I could build fast enough I'd hop on this buy too!
