Hey all, I'm getting started on #2 now and would like comments/suggestions on the materials.

The B&S will be EIR with a Bearclaw spruce top and I was thinking of trying bloodwood for the bindings.

Originally I thought I would also do bloodwood for the bridge, headplate and fingerboard as well, but after thinking about the bound fingerboard, I thought a contrast would be nice so I'm leaning towards EIR for the bridge, headplate and fingerboard and possibly trying out bloodwood binding (Woolson style) around the soundhole.

Any other ideas or comments on my thoughts so far are welcome.

I'd suggest BRW instead of EIR for the bridge and FB...lighter, harder and more resonant than EIR.

Bloodwood bindings will look great.

I like bloodwood binding w/rosewood sides and back.Good Choice. I agree that brw would be better for the bridge and FB.

Very cool ideas from everyone.

I had some EIR blanks on order last night, but I quickly cancelled them this morning. I still have a while before I'll actually need the blanks, but I am liking the BRW idea so far.
