I have some sets that might fit the bill. I'll give you a call today. I haven't found any old BR in about a year but I'm always searching. I have roughly 8 sets left for sale and 25-30 in my "vault" or 401K as I like to call it.

Steve, We want to see the ones in the 401K. Maybe there are those who can help you reach retirement sooner?

I'm even getting the BRW itch watching these great guitars glide past our eyes month after month.

Paul had an aversion to it, until someone put a set in his hands.

Just wondering out loud.

I saw some stuff at the Dallas Guitar Show, but it looked chocolate brown instead of deep wine and burgundy with black veins. That's what I like. The chocolate milk BRW sets were very nice, just $800 a set. Brazilian guy said he had no trouble bringing it into the states either.

Interesting Article. Don't know if it's true. Georgeous wood, too bad it's history left little for tomorrow. Just too expensive for me.

I've seen coco looking like this too.

I really like the more straight grain stuff, like some of the old Martins had.

Thought I would post my 1988 Franklin OM BRW guitar (BRW cut in 1964).  Fancy stuff is great - but check this out

Bruce, I still say it's cocobolo. It's too red for Brazilian, unless they stained it.

I think they photoshopped it, rather than stained it. Just turn up the saturation and *poof*.

Today I am, once again, covered in BRW dust resawing for another customer who has some. And, when he comes to pick it up later, I'll once again be left with my stash of BRW only big enough for fingerboards and bridges. Maybe this guy'll let me have some of it...

logically that article is true....I find it very hard to believe that woodworkers have driven this species to near extinction...I came across that piece while doing research on BRW and decided I would have no guilt in buying some stuff that is definitely questionably legal and certainly not old growth materials..
