Hesh, this one's for you, buddy. I know I crossed the line. The gender line, that is, with that morph I did of you as the French maid. (Nice legs, by the way!) So, here is the ammo for your payback:

Here's a picture of me pretending to play a 1904 Martin 1-45. Note the solid ivory bridge. This is one of only six made, and is worth in excess of $125,000.00

This shot was taken on Grant Goltz's back porch this last August, at a gathering of a bunch of Luthierforum members. There were a dozen rare guitars that we got to examine, touch, and play. What an honor!

Hesh,
This is just a "standard" pyramid bridge, just out of ivory instead of wood. Saddle fits in a slot, just like normal.

This belongs to a collector friend of mine, and I have it here for some minor repairs that I will be doing over the next couple of months.

I am also finishing repairs on a 1890 2-27 and a pre 1867 2-19. His 1840 Martin in the original wood "coffin style" case did not need any repairs, so we just played it for a few days and then returned it to him.

If you have any questions on any of these, I can post some additional photos, measurements, etc.

Grant

That was laugh out loud so loudly that my wife and kid heard me from the other end of the house and my daughter came running to see what was making her dad laugh so hard funny!

You should take out a "booth" at the OLF Swap Meet and sell:

A.) PhotoShop Composites, including the character or animal of your choice with the luthier of your choice

and

B.) PhotoShop Composite Protection Insurance (as long as the insured has paid more than a composite buyer, you would agree NOT to do the composite)

Thanks for the belly laugh!

Dennis

Hope your not too upset "Spider Leahy" had to make an apperance on the same thread! It was, kind of a opening I couldn't miss!
Never seen or heard of an ivory bridge! I was puzzled by that! What a beauty!
