Ooh, Bob Long hit a good one: a riser block! Why didn't I think of that?

1.) Riser Block for Ridgid/Jet/Grizzly 14" bandsaw. (they are supposedly interchangable - other than paint color)

2.) "Scraps" Highly figured, well-quartersawn pieces of wood that are too narrow for backs, or fingerboards with defects. Maybe back sets with cracks or other defects that make them unsuitable as backs. Maybe fingerboards with defects or just too narrow to work. I'm thinking that everyone who resaws must have some of this in their "scrap" pile.

In addition to guitars I also dabble in puzzle boxes for the grandkids and relatives. I'm always looking for nice block scraps of figured woods at least 2 x 3 x 6. For those of you that resaw 8/4 stock or do in fact have some block pieces laying around in the cast off box... please let me know.

This is a long shot, but perhaps worth a try.
I was fondly remembering a plank bought years
ago, some beautiful and purple EIR.
It is long gone, alas.
But if someone has a 32"+ long plank, perhaps
too narrow for sides, too pretty for fretboards,
I would be quite interested.
My plan is to use it for binding strips.
The plantation grown stuff on the market now just
leaves one sad....
Anyone got some old growth purple EIR???
