Hello Everyone,

Do the OLF SJ Plans come with a tracing/outline of the body? All I really need is a tracing as I will go off on my own from there. If anyone has an outline for sale please let me know, that would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I'll see if the plans will work.

Thanks,
Greg

Nope Definitely not built to any kind of Martin spec. I developed this box and bracing location via 3 different bracing prototypes. The bracing pattern I show on the plans is the one I had the best over all sound from.

I would offer you a tracing but that would be taking possible donations away from the forum and since I donated the plans to help support the forum I feel I should instead encourage you to order a set. That way you help support this great meeting place.

Hope you understand

I bought the OLF SJ plan and it builds a very nice guitar. Michael did a great job with it, both in clarity of details of the plan and in the sound of the finished instrument. I built 2 guitars per the plan.

Greg and I attended the Somogyi course together in February, and I suspect that he wants to design his bracing scheme based on what he learned. I did that and was very please with the result.

Greg, I think it is a great idea to buy the plans. You'll have the tracing and you'll help support this forum.

Thanks everyone,

No problem buying the plans guys, but I really didn't know if there was a tracing in it...even though I figured there must be one, I couldn't seem to find proof when looking at them in the library, now I know and that's a good thing.

Yes Steve you are correct, I will be using my own bracing scheme.

Cheers,
Greg

Plans are full scale 1"=1" on everything +or- only the paper shrinkage or expansion which unfortunately is inconsistent because it is highly subject to environmental changes and the make up of the paper its self. Same reason LMI but that little sticker on the plans they sell (scale disclaimer)

But in general it will be less than .5% out of scale. They are printed or plotted at full scale but like I said paper will shrink and or expand.
