Anyone here using 2K urethanes? Just got a gallon of sherwin williams polane, and the data sheet dosn't mention recoat windows. I've seen catalyzed coatings lift before when I didn't pay attention to the recoat window, and I want to avoid that. What's your finish schedule, 2K users?

I use McFaddens and here's my schedule. 1.5 hours between coats. 3 coats MAX per day. After three coats are sprayed, wait two days and level sand with 220. Shoot three more final coats, wait 7-10 days, sand and buff. You can buff in 3 days but you will experience shrink back so a longer wait is better.

Tim,
Thanks for the info. I got a message back from SW today and they say that the 2K has no critcal recoat window. I'd like to shoot more than one coat a day, but Polane has a really slow dry time, like 3-6 hours to touch. I think I need to get thier accelerator.
I do like the stuff though, tough as nails.

Hey Josh,

I use the 2 part urethanes and love them. I have posted my finishing schedule somewhere here before recently.
Basically, I apply 2 coats at 1 1/2 hour intervals on the first day. Let dry overnight and sand with 180 grit. Apply two more coats at 1 1/2 hour intervals and let dry overnight again. Third day same as day two. Day 4 or 5 buff to your hearts content and then smile at your reflection.
