In the day and age of the US's new National Security procedures etc... if one goes to a local hardware store and purchases a length of metal pipe a couple end caps and a box of matches, they'd surely raise some eyebrows and have some official looking visitors knocking on their door in short order.

So, as a novice to guitar building and finishing, I just finished my first classical and decided to do it up right by applying a shellac finish with the French Polish method.  I had no idea how closely related the methods and equipment used in French Polish are to other less noble basement manufacturing facilities.

I'm really glad the people working at the kitchen store were teenagers and not the manager who might have wondered about the middle aged man buying a hot pot, thermometer, digital kitchen scale, and wondering where I could get my hands on a bottle of Everclear.
Evidently I have to drive to Wisconsin to get that because it is not legal to purchase Everclear in Minnesota.

So when I got home I decided to check and see if any flags had gone up with regard to my FBI file.
I even found a link to the FBI database.  You wouldn't believe what they have on luthiers on their website.    I recommend checking your own file when you have a chance.  I've included a link directly to the profile the FBI has at national headquarters.

www.FBIfile.Com

Enjoy,
Happy Halloween

Dave

Hmmm...you know, I always hover over a link to see where it's going before I click on it....and that looks suspicious...

Didn't get me...
