I am setting up my buffing machine and am looking for recommendations on the type of wheels to use. I've looked at Grizzly and Caswell's. Lots of choices??

caswell has the best deal i've seen on the canton flannel wheels which are what you want.

Got mine form Grizzly and have been quite happy. Don't know what Caswell's pricing is though.

caswell do a 2 for the price of 1; 14" works out to less than $8.00 each.

Well I made a decision. I bought a 1hp baldor motor, a gokart axel and bearings and some buffs from Caswell and it is really nice to have a real buffing machine!! Thanks for the advice!

   You want to if possible make the machine with a few speeds. I made my own buffer much like the Parma unit. I run it at 400-600 and 800. This affords me good control on the finish without fear of burning through.
Cone pullies and having the motor on a hinge system makes fast speed changes

be careful with a 1hp motor; the poser is a blessing and a curse. the problem with having a lot of power is that it won't stall if you push too hard; it will keep right on trucking and heat will build up before you know it and you will get burn throughs. also if you are a little careless with your presentation it takes a lot firmer grip to make sure it doesn't take flight.
