I can hear a subtle differences in projection, presence & volume, but that unique "De Faoite" tone is there throughout.

Without reading the replies on this thread....

Clip #3 is the Limba Grand concert, I reckon.
#1 is the parlour.
#2 is the fanned fret EIR
#4 is the cedar/maple grand concert.

Short scale Sitka Greenfield Ham or Double Hambone?
Bet I could tell them from a Red Kite or Cherry Cubano?

Fair enough. Sounds like a fun challenge. But my guess is that it will sound a great deal like a Dave White guitar.

Kirby,

Fascinating instruments - have you heard any of them played? Interesting about the double-neck as that is the next thing on my production line.

I love the broucure proudly announcing:

"The instrument is finished in a beautiful dull finish"

Sounds like my kind of instrument

Dave yes I did hear one but it was way back around 1979 or so.

It is a little embarrassing but I remember being critical of it saying that I thought It could easily be a fake(as far as its age) because I thought that no real Luthier would put a brace under the head stock like that. That it was probably Japanese and someone put a fake label in it, Ah the conceit of youth.

Dave I looked to find a recording anywhere on the net but was unable to find one. If I remember correctly I think I read that Ben Harper owns one. All I can remember is I thought it was loud for its size.

I still think the headstock brace is a little goofy and a heel would serve better.

The double makes me wish I knew Michael Dunn just so I could hear it.
