Those who prefer 1 13/16" nut, what measurments do you use for:
12th fret
Bridge spacing

I don't use 1 13/16 often but when I do I use a 2.25" pin spacing and I have no idea off the top of my head as to the 12th fret width because I layout my neck on paper, laying out the the string spacing at the nut and at the saddle and draw a line between these for the two E strings, with an 1/8" offset from the outside of these two strings to the neck edge. This sets the taper of the neck and therefore the width at each fret along the way. The only dimensions on the neck width I worry with is the nut of course and the 14th if a 14 fret neck and the 12th on a 12 fret neck. If the taper formed as I explained above creates an uncommon dimension at the 12th or 14th such as 2 14/64 I will splay the neck angle to a common dimension like 2 1/4" at the joint. I had rather keep that dimension in 1/8" increments.

Here is an example how I do it. 14 fret 25.4 scale, 2 1/8" pin spacing with 1 13/16" scale

I get allot of orders from classical players for that neck size!
I use a 55 to 56mm 12th-and 57mm e to e at the bridge.
You can go to 60mm e to e without any problems of pulloff -for a steel string!
(from the high e side of the neck!)

My typical specs are:

1-13/16 nut, 2 5/16 @ 14th & center to center @ bridge saddle(pin
spacing).

1-3/4 nut, 2-1/4 @ 14th & bridge

1-7/8 nut, 2 3/8 @ 14th & bridge

On my 1 13/16" nuts, I use a 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle.

Thanks all so much. Wow, what explicit instructions. Drawing and layout seem to be a given. However, even in 8th grade, my horse drawing resembled something from prehistoric times-not in any way even a distant relative of the horse family

Just so that every one knows! I had a drawing of my bridge with 2 1/8" spacing here at work so I used it in my example drawing of how I get my neck dimensions. I would normally use a 2 1/4" spacing with a 1 13/16" nut but I did not take the time to drawing that spacing for the example drawing. Now that I think about it I probably should have in case some one wanted to use the data.
