It's kind of funny this time around, work is crazy, we are planning on moving, I paid for a booth at healdsburg and I have new clients coming over and one waiting for his. On top of that my son and I are building Dreads together (I'm showing him the ropes and he's teaching me patience)..
So I though I would post some pics for people that asked me too (in fact lots have), the only thing I don't have is some pics of the zoot zircote that I won in the auction (BobC Rocks), after being glued and cutout it warped and cracked so it's in the sticker pile getting straight (I was able to CA it). But I do have some of the top here:
This is partially braced before I carve it on monday, here's the rosette:
BD (that old devil) sold me a set of plans for an Olson SJ, so I made some molds, got some cedar and walnut from AC Woods and here's the top ready for bracing to start:
Here's the rosette:
That's rosewood on outer ring, walnut burl on the innner and paua in the center. I hate working with cedar though, I dropped a tool and had to steam out the dent
Also someone asked me to keep and update on the snakehead fanned fret, here's the top all braced:
The bridge will sit across the upper X brace and then the bass side will float out over the patch, this should give it good bass response (that last one was killer) and I made the patch bigger this time to keep the bellying to a minimum.
Here's the headstock, it's all snakewood for this one:
Finally I'm working on a new classical that's based on a hauser....
The top is engleman, it's got a snakewood headstock on it, will have a snakewood fingerboard and brigde and should be ready for healdsburg this year.
So now everyones up to date and Lance will kill me for taking up so much drive space (sorry Lance
)
Cheers
