100 feet of mandolin fret wire.
Mandolin tail piece.

How does she know these things? In November, I bookmark and circle about a dozen things that I would like in the LMI and StewMac catalogs and then put them back in the catalog drawer. She then picks out a couple. It's a good system. I don't know which one(s) I'll get so there is still some surprise.

The family got a 46" HDTV and a TivoHD so we're all in danger of being sucked into the evil vortex.

I got my shop gifts well before Christmas, my new table saw and a few other goodies

Our main family gift this year was a new 50" Visio Plasma HDTV, pivoting wall mount and new HD/DVR satellite receiver.

Got this:

It's LOUD LOUD LOUD, but sounds really good. I was looking at a tube version but it's over $400 more so Santa settled on this, beats the little 15watt I'd been practicing with :)

Also got some PJ's, A Robe and a break in orders, so I get to spend some shop time on *my* projects, I'm heading out there today to get cranking on the OOO sitting on the workbench :)

But best of all I got to have the whole family over this year for Christmas, I would have traded anything for that...

Cheers

We got to spend some time with my sister and her kids (11 and 13) this Christmas. She recently quit her job, sold the house, car and whatever of their belingings that they cannot make room for on their 40 ' sail boat, which now is in Turkey. They are about to set their sails and travel around the world for at least the next 4 years, so we don't know when we'll see them again.

Oh, and I got a Canon 400D camera, some books and a fancy nut cracker...

I got an LMI glue clearing chisel. Haven't used it yet, but man it sure is fun to hold.

A Porter cable laminate trimmer (It's an extra so now I don't have to take the one off of my binding jig).

A gift card to Woodcraft

Sansa E260 4GB MP3 Player also with a 4GB Micro SD card to expand it to 8GB.

A Guitar Christmas tree ornament

A soft ice chest

A framed picture of my girlfriend and I

A new shirt, pants and socks.

And a Wonderful Christmas celebration with my whole family!

So I must have been a good boy this year because Santa brought me a great gift. A new 14" Delta bandsaw that I have had my eye on for a while. Its amazing what dropping hints to my parents will do. Now I can spend all the money I have been saving for it on something else, probably WAS-related.

I got a new winter hat, which is sure to be my new shop hat (mostly because my shop is in the garage). I also picked up the Bandsaw Handbook by Mark Duginske with a gift card I got.

It was a good Christmas this year.

I got a new laminate trimmer, a centerline finder, a subscription to Fretboard Journal and Acoustic Guitar magazines.  The best gift I got though was the look on the faces of my two daughters when they got the twin guitars I built for them.  Priceless!

Hey Pat,
I've got one of those too. It is a great tool, eh? It's a Stanley, right?

Look like a Stanley #12 scraper to me. I love that tool too, but mine is missing the nuts that lock the angle of the scraper. I am actually bidding on a ebay wreck now just for that part...

Arnt, I have one that turned out to be pretty much a piece of junk, but the brass knobs are OK, if you want them.  The body was so rusted, the blade holder wouldn't even tilt.  I tried to drive the pins out, but it didn't work.  I'd be willing to part with the knobs if you want them.  I have another one that works just fine.

Tim,

It's actually a Stanley copy, Union #60. It is an exact copy of the Stanley #12. I picked it up on ebay for $8, near new condition, without handle or iron. It has a Ron Hock iron and a very much more comfortable handle now. That's not the proper term, but I cant' recall the correct one - sort of like referring to strings as wires.

Arnt,

If you don't find the nuts, let me know and I'll talk to my brother. He's been buying, restoring and selling Stanley wood tools for about 25 years. Good chance he has some laying around.

Too bad. I just got over one that plagued me off and on for years. Got real bad early this year. Today I had the last of 3 months of PT.

Good luck with it.

Bruce and Pat, I had the left shoulder freeze last year and with PT over the last 6 months I now have about 2/3 motion. I expect the right shoulder to be no different and do not look forward to the next year. However, I did just switch to GEICO and saved a bundle on my insurance. Actually though I am very thankful.....thankful that I have run out shoulders.

I got this Digi-Tech Vocalizer that adds harmonies to voice. Unbelievable !!! Sounds like I have two backup singers and makes me sound better than I really am. Just finished playing tonight at my sisters restaurant/bar and my brother and I just kept laughing at how accurate this thing is. If you play solo you should check this out.
