There was a thread on them in Off Topic Discussions back a couple of months ago.  Several of us have had a hard time communicating with them.  Don't know what the situation is.

It is just a couple of folks and they really don't answer phones much. I lived in the Tulsa area a long time and went to their warehouse.

They are great to deal with in orders. They only sale rosewood, mahogany and maple but good stuff.
You will get what you order. They sale stuff less expensive than other supplier's but not have as big an inventory as the others either.

They are good with their orders. I can try and call a friend who lives in the area and deals with them on a constant basis and ask what the phone problem is.

Their office is about the size of a small bedroom and only a grandma answering phone and doing all the order stuff and books. 2 brothers and another guy fill the orders and deal with walk in. It is the type of old style warehouse of bin etc.

I deal with them still and no problem. But that is when go to Tulsa to visit kids and have excuse to get away.

By the way the phone thing has been that way for as long as I have dealt with them about 5 years and many years before then. They do a lot of milling of wood and cut solid bodie up and do other things that keep them busy. Just old fashioned, but should do the phones, but probably never will. They do a bunch in the violin area.

Well, I can say that I finally got thru to them back in September and placed an order for two hundred and fifty bucks.  Two weeks later after not getting anything I called and talked to Adam.  He told me it was sitting on the table and he would get it out first thing the next morning.  A week later I call again and talk with Adam.  He apologized again and promised me it would go out that night.  Here it is Jan 08 and still nothing.  I've been trying to call day and night but the phone just keeps ringing busy.  If anyone hears anything else please holler at me. In the meantime I'd be leary of them.  Other's have been having problems with them too.

 I would reccomend any that has payed for things that were not delivered to contact the local district attorney  or the state attorney generals office , as far as I know its still fruad to take someones money and not deliver  a product, all you should need is your record of payment to file a complaint , with enough complaints they will take action  ,.. good luck.. and  thanks for the warnings .... That's really sad. When I worked there in the 70's, every single order was packed up and shipped out the next day, no exceptions. Old man Brown is probably rolling over in his grave.

Chuck, do you know if they already charged your card?  If they have, you might be able to go through Visa or MC.  Don't they have some guarantee of service from those who are licensed to charge through them?  If they pull the license, then ILS is out of business.

I live in Tulsa and just started luthiery. I was planning on getting some tuners there and stopped by but to my horror, I could not find them. I called a local luthier/music dealer Firey Brothers and they told me they are going out of business :cry:

I heard they were once a great company...very sad.

They did say they were selling off all there stock. BUT, good luck trying to get a hold of anyone.

You might also post this on MIMF and 13th Fret as well. Perhaps some of the members there might have an explanation or suggestion. If nothing else, it would provide a warning to others to be cautions.
