I'm thinking of trying some of this stuff for binding. Anybody used it?

Yup!

Michael, your thread about surgical rubber got me thinking about this tubing to wrap the body after binding, not as a binding material as my original post may have suggested.

I gathered as much I just having a manic day

I tried surgical tubing, Not this stuff, and it worked great. However I did like Todd showed in the other topic and taped first then used the tubing to draw in good and tight. I am trying to design a system that where I don't use tape at all and clamp with band as I work my way around.

They make flat banding too. seems like it would be less likely to roll around as you position it. Kinda wide but easy enough to cut.

Here's a source.....

Cheers

Hmmm. Kirt, I hadn't thought of the bands. I even have some at home. Also, it could cover a much wider bit of binding than the tubing. Now to find out what "synthetic elastomer" means. Thanks!
