I just spotted a link to this viseo lesson at another forum and just had to
drop it over here for everybody to enjoy.

The tuning method and the fact he uses a USB cable to plug in really
struck me as funny.

I was glad to be validated when the guy said that acoustic guitars are still
OK....."at least to start with."

    It's just a funny video.

Regards,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars

Kevin,
I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes when he started talking about the tremelo arm. He says he doesn't know what it is and should just take it off because you really have no need for one! Thanks for sharing, a great way to end a Friday with a laugh!

I wish I'd had this lesson when I first started playing.
He makes tuning sooooo much easier.

(I hope he comes out with some videos on building. Those would be real helpful.)

Advanced techniques like....chords.....and stuff!

HEY! HEY! HEY!! I thought the 7th fret came right after the 5th fret! 3rd fret..4th fret..5th fret..7th fret RIGHT?? Of course, all you really need are the first 3!

wow - this guy not only got his tuner for 50 bucks instead of 55 like we all paid, but he's seen a 32 fret guitar...

he's not just advanced, he's special.

I just watched this short clip and was happy to understand where it all started for Ash.

It's pretty common among player that they play a guitar for the first time and are able to "tear it up" with no formal or official training.

As I've often said, too many frets just get in the way.  4 is all you need, the others are just  trouble.  I like decorating dots too, they really make the guitar look cool.   I've been using the lining up the knobs method for years, trouble is, everybody I play with is out of tune, they just don't get it.  Keep it simple, me and Ash, we've got it figured out.

"you won't rally use anything from 4 onward so if you have a four fret
guitar your set."

"and these, those little color things" (referring to the position markers)
"They are decoration I guess. They make a guitar look pretty and really
fancy like."

"This is the on and off switch" (moving the pickup switch)

This is where you plug in your USB cable, and it goes to the amplifier and
makes Amplifiic noises"

"Uhh this, I don't, I've never used this and you probably will never use
this" (whilst spinning the whammy bar in circles)

While comparing an acoustic to an electric "The most major [difference]
will be a big hole that generates the sound in an acoustic one. umm don't
worry an acoustic one is still good. Yeah they're fine. They're fine to start
with. It's OK. "

...and wow.. can't even begin to describe the tuning portion... wow.. I
loved it. All these years I've been tuning my guitar wrong....Thanks for
the laugh Kevin.

Can anyone get the link to work for the second video. You'll all get a kick out of the story about how Ash got started playing guitar....especially the bit about pressing up against the window and "they even threw in a couple of picks for free."

Heres the URL. I didn't preview my post to see if the link I'd posted worked like I should have and was told to.
