Hi Everyone,

Here is a neck through body bass I made for a friend of mine. Second instrument built, first commission job.

The neck is maple/bubinga, the wings are mahogany, bloodwood top and binding, pus are bartollini.

It sounds cool and my friend likes it.

Stefan

Nice job! I eventually want to try basses. Are they harder or easier than guitars, more or less expensive, or it depends? Probably it depends I'm sure. Much of the hardware seems relatively pricey when I look for it. I wonder if anyone has ever done a full stand up one, or knows about how involved they are. Like building a giant violin I suppose.

It really looks good. Congratulations.

What kind of response to you feel it has - with the bubinga, bloodwood, and mahogany? I have yet to use tha combination, but have heard some good things about them all...I plan on using a lightly spalted maple/ african mahogany laminate for my next bass - so I'd be interested in what you have to say...

LOOKS GREAT,
Stephen
