I'm looking for some redwood burl to make a rosette. Have any of our sponsors got any please?

Colin

On that note, where do people get burl (any) stock from. In searching online and the local national stores, its always way too big, too small or little figure.

The Woodcraft store near me has many burl blanks for turning bowls that are covered in wax and well preserved. I would think that one could resaw one of those into rosette sized blanks for real wood rosettes - no?

I have some chunks left over from a recent bass build. You would have to bookmatch it, but I can send you some if needed.

Colin...
I've got some I can spare... The photo shows one I did as a radial-cut rosette, but I have some large enough for a one-piece.

Thanks everyone for all of your kind offers and advice. Almost as soon as I posted I had PMs offering to send me some, (Isn't the OLF great!). I want to use it as the rosette in a redwood top, and now some is winging its way to me from the lone star state.

It's really difficult trying to find any in the UK, I don't think that anything other than veneer makes it's way over here.

Again many thanks for all your offers, it really is appreciated.

Colin
