I am not gonna guess, but just had to say that even after looking at those photos many times, especially the "gothic" one with the "fret saw," I still laugh every time.

Steve-- so glad that we can entertain. Unfailingly!
Dave--guess again mate. And as for the build, we will document. Right, bro?
Alain--you are sooo close. At least you have now moved to the correct hemisphere on your one wrong guess.
(And hoo, boy, that's a big hint...)

Steve

That's a beautiful shop, I would spend many an industrious hour in there. really inspiring pictures. That's happy chaos.

Because of the astounding varieties of hardwoods out there and the striking similarities with some of them, I won't even hazard a guess...

Alain, with that kind of commitment, you should be rewarded.
And you WILL be. The lard is yours!
But first take another look at this shot:
I think Brett was the first to guess Honduran Rosewood as the 2nd to left, which really impressed me. What seemed to stump everyone was the 2nd to right, which is old-growth Cocobolo. It looks for all the world like Brazilian, and in fact I wouldn't want to try my luck going through customs with this guy.
I hope this was fun for the few of you who played.
I never get to do one of these, so I had a grand time.
