Ok, I have alot of the really killer pomelle Sapele that came from boards that have been the topic of so many conversations. I am going to sell 10 sets ("D" size) for $150 a set (no more than 2 per customer please). It will have figure that is consistant with the pictures here. For those who care 1/3 of the money raised here will go to help a new church purchase a set of drums.
Please EMAIL me with any questions.

Will you take a quart of plasma, and a pint of red blood cells?

Sorry Brian, The wood is so stunningly beautiful, I couldn't just sit here and stare at it, even if I can't afford to buy it.

All of you who get these 10 sets, you are some lucky luthiers!

Dennis

Just in case anyone with $150 to invest in a set is too late, you can always go on over to LMI and get a set for $340 to $599, for what looks to me to be pretty much the exact same stuff. Quilted Sapele at LMI (And I seriously doubt that one third of your money will go to a charity!)

So why am I jumping up and down? Well, I have two reasons:

1.) I can't afford it, and as soon as it is gone, my blood pressure will return to normal. Ahhhhhhhh...

2.) I just gotta brag about this guy. The OLF is very lucky to have several suppliers that are several notches past incredible. Brian is one of them. In a far off land called the luthierforum (note the missing "S") a few months ago, someone had the idea to have a Build-Off contest, to spur builders and wannabee builders to build an instrument. I had just recently poked my nose in there, attempting to rekindle the fire to finish my first guitar, after about a 25 year hiatus after my first incomplete attempt. Anyway, I got swept up in the enthusiasm, and joined the Build-Off. Immediately, Brian offered to provide someone with a AAA set of Koa for free, to help someone out that needed materials. It was me! Afterwards, I discovered that the Koa set was not going to work for my crazy experimental design, and Brian sent me a beautiful waterfall Bubinga set to replace the Koa set! He wouldn't even accept any shipping money from me.

So there you have it, and you understand why I know that Brian is awesome. Now, hurry up any buy the 10 incredible sets being offered!

Dennis

Got that right! I just emailed Brian....
I think I'll broadcast this one on another thread later, but here goes.

I'd love to see all of us individually seriously consider making an instrument for charity. I'm a very blessed guy, and I must contribute to others. I'm going to give a guitar to my brother who led me to Jesus. Changed my life forever for the good. (trust me here...)

I know I can build a $3,000-$5,000 guitar for the price of materials and never miss the hours. I call that an investment that will pay me back many times in unknown ways in the long run. (the best part is getting an enlarged heart for others.. I call that LOVE!)

I encourage us all to think about using your gifts to help others. You'll get it back, maybe not the same way, but you'll be rewarded. Test it and see! I'll pledge to do it! (especially since my income isn't from luthiery, I'm a painting contractor.._)

We'll pick this up on another thread later. (Sorry for the hijack Brian, I just got excited )

Live out loud!Terry Stowell38557.9253356481

Man, Brian, if I hadn't just bought a set of Koa from Steve 2 days ago, I'd be all over this! I think the Lord is impressing the value of stewardship on me by putting all this lovely lovely ZOOT in front of me! (Or is tempting me!!) Oh well, resist and he'll flee, right? Next time though, if all your stock looks this good, I'll throw some bidness your way! Enjoy those new drums!

Larry
