If any of you are from the Finger Lakes area (that's central NY state, for those of you who might be wondering), I'd love to be in touch with you. I'm just south of Ithaca. It would be great to have a get-together and see what we can learn from each other. I'd also be interested in studying - like doing a weekend workshop or whatever - with luthiers in my region who have experience in areas where I could use some help (French polishing and other guitar finishing skills being one example among many).

I'm only about 25 minutes drive from the PA line, so my region isn't really limited to NY state.

We joke that Ithaca is "centrally isolated", but I hope to find there are quite a few of you within a short drive, and I'm not as isolated in my pursuit of lutherie as I often feel!

Well, I'd have to call this a resounding silence. Maybe I am as isolated as I sometimes feel! Actually, I do know a few other instrument makers and repairers in my area, but I'd still like to connect with more, especially folks who are motivated to share information and experience like I find here on the OLF.

Maybe I'll post again and cast a broader net than "the Finger Lakes"...
