Not to be rude, but these threads are often overlooked because of the title. Try starting a new thread and labeling it "I need a set of Cuban Mahogany"

Lee buddy I took this picture at Uncle Bob's, RC Tonewoods, about a month ago........ I wanted to roll in the stuff..... which, BTW, the act of rolling around in a pile of beautiful tonewood is called a "crazy ritz" as coined by Coach Tony Karol..... :D

I have some wondefull 150 year old curly cuban mahogany that came from an old cabanit makers stash.
he bought when he started his aprentiship at 15 and stashed it for that special job.
he died at 90 years old with out ever using it.
his family kept it for another 30 years before deciding to sell it.
most of the wood went to antique restorers but i managed to get some of it for guitars.

There is some realy nice plantation stock about from the south pacific but its not quite the same as the real thing from cuba.

cuba put an export ban real cuban mahogany in 1946 and it has been comercialy extinct since.

i only have six sets of this left its a wood i will not be able to get again (allthough i do have the plantation stock at half the price).
i do have a good supplier that is good at finding old stock like this so more may come up one day.

it a stunning wood and a dream to use.

I would recomend bobs wood. my freind bought a set from him and it made a wondefulll guitar and his service is second to none.

also i am not sure about exporting this wood to the states due to cites classification so i may not be able to ship it to the states.

good luck i think you find cuban mahogany one of your favourate woods.

joel.
