I'm am engineer, but at this point I am without the years of experience of some on the board. My gut tells me that this is probably one of those things that makes a difference, albeit probably a small one.

In terms of damping, I would not expect this to make a large difference. The materials for both the saddle and the bridge are intentionally made from materials that have low damping values.

I do think that it would make an increasingly large difference as the height that the saddle protrudes above the base increases. I think that the lateral stiffness (in the direction of string pull) of the saddle could affect how the vibrations from the strings are transferred to the rest of the guitar. Maybe a stiffer (i.e. wider) saddle could transmit a more pure signal than a flimsier one? seems like it could be a factor on some setups..

I just installed a Load'n'Lock, my first after several Wavelengths.
I was worried about cutting that 7/8" hole, but I followed the directions and it was quite easy.
I like it.
