i just strung up my first build and i am very dissappointed in the lack of bass in my treble strings. The sixth string sounds amazing but it progressively gets worse. the trebles almost sound tinty. Does any have any ideas before i lose my mind.... Thank u

Let it settle in for a few days before you make any rash decisions. The guitar will probably open up. Playing it will help.

let it settle in a month or more before we jump to conclusions. Play it hard every day. as much as you can. Change strings a time or two often just a different set of string will make a big difference.

make sure the ball end of the strings are seated up against the bridge plate, when I first strung up mine, the B string was horrible. I finally ended up looking inside and the ball end was hanging in free space, I loosened the string, took out the pin and made sure it seated, viola!

One other thing to check for is to make SURE that the bottom of the saddle is in contact with the bridge. One guitar I made had a similar tone as what you are describing, and after some "fiddling" with it I discovered that the saddle wasnt all the way down in the slot. Once the saddle was firmly seated in the slot, all of the strings were present and sounded fine.

I just finished a deep bodied OM with similar immediate results. After playing it for a few days and changing the strings once. It opened right up and sounds just as I expected.

Give it a few days. You'll be suprised at the difference, assuming there's no other issues.

On a few of mine, on first stringing them up, their sound made me think I needed to pop my ears, like I'd just come down off a mountain. They - the guitars - were fine after a week, even better a month later, and one that I still have continues to improve after three years.

I'll iterate what most folks have said. Wait a few days and see if it opens up. You should be pleasantly surprised. I know I've put the first set of strings on a couple of mine and almost cried 'cause they just sounded 'dead'. But a couple of days of settling in and being played, and they came into their own.
