I noticed from the OLF subscription thread that there have not been many posts there of people who are subscribing to the OLF this year and I wanted to see if I could help this very fine cause along.

With this in mind I have to tell you that the OLF was the single most influential source for my own guitar building and I have learned so very much here over several years that I will be forever grateful for the OLF.

Times have been tough for me and I really could not afford to subscribe to the OLF this year but I did it anyway. Why? Because the "value" of supporting this very fine forum to me is priceless. And I am the sort who believes in making contributions to what ever provides me great value. This is also why I only deal with OLF sponsors when I need something guitar building related.

So folks, and without any prior knowledge by Lance or Brock that I was going to make this request to you, I would ask you all to please consider subscribing to the OLF. There is a wealth of knowledge here and as you have seen for yourself time and time again many of the members here are some of the most helpful individuals on the planet.

Last year we needed new software, many of you asked for things such as an edit button, YouTube, greater speed, having me banned..... :D , etc. Our hosts worked their tail blocks off and delivered the goods and this all cost them dearly too. With this said it's now even more important and only fair that we do our part and show our appreciation by supporting the OLF.

We are a true on-line community sharing a very cool mutual interest - guitar building and if we want to continue to benefit from the OLF it is very important that we each do our part, if you can, to help keep the lights on and the information flowing.

Lance's 2008 subscription post/thread will detail the cool things that you will receive when subscribing which include a subscription to the Fretboard Journal which is IMHO the classiest publication of it's type available. The current issue features an interview with Richard Thompson that I found fascinating.

Please consider subscribing to the OLF?

Many thanks! :)

Hesh,
Don't assume that just because a person didn't post a message in the OLF subscription forum doesn't mean that they didn't subscribe. If I hadn't made a small procedural error when I subscribed I wouldn't have posted anything there. I try to make most of my posts about luthierie.
