I strung up this 5 string violin yesterday. It will soon be off to it's new owner, Darol Anger, when he gets back from touring Sweden.

Barry, you're an absolute inspiration to those of us making our first violin. What does it sound like? Love to hear a clip if that is possible.

Congrats! It looks spectacular, Barry.

I'm sure Darol will be very happy once he gets back from Sweden (who wouldn't? laughing6-hehe )!

The violin has a big clear dark sound. It has good mids and still has an "E" string that has some cut to it.
Thanks for the kind words.
Keep on making that first fiddle. How about some photos!
If I can ever help let me know. I willing to share the little bit that I know.

Beautiful fiddle Barry
I really like the way the central laminate of dark wood shows up in the central section of the scroll. Very elegant. Is this the bubinga body violin

Yes this is a Bubinga bodied violin. It is actually the second one of these and I am really liken the way they sound.
