Tony Soprano would be proud of the care you took when cutting up Burl Ives on a band saw........ :D

What a beautiful rosette in waiting. It makes me a bit dissatisfied with the red abalone heart I'm getting ready to put in a redwood top [:Y:]

As an alternative, I've had very good luck joining rosette blanks using the 'tent' method used for tops (masking tape). If the joint's tight, a few strips of stewmac brown masking tape will do wonders. Recently used it to make a cavity cover blank for an electric from some offcuts that were not wide enough on their own, and I needed a good grain/colour match.
