Here's another of my silly little jigs. This is for cutting the back binding at the heel. Something that I always seem to dick around with before I get it perfect. This uses an X-Acto fine tooth saw and has simplified the operation for me. It actually works well, and it's easy to make several for different sized bindings.

Ah simply ingenious Terry .. now why didnt I think of that . Would you mind if I make one !!!!

Also ... I recently found at Lee Valley these great little back saws .. 10 thou blade, 6 bucks, dont think they are in the main catalog, but in one of the monthly flyers. Bought 3 .... they cut so smooth, and take no wood .. I am using them now to cut the brace recess in the back centre strip reinforcement, very nice to work with.

Thanks everyone. Tony you are welcome to make them with reckless abandon, I made your bridge slotting/drilling jig and love it.
I may as well show the rest of the "system" crude as it is. I always had trouble stabilizing the ends of narrow purfling for the miter to the back strip. These jigs work pretty well for that. You can make the initial cut just past the end of the jig and then sneak up on the final length. The jig does not block the reflection in the chisel. Again, you have to make one for each purfling size.

Thank you Terry. This is one of the tasks that I've been dreading because I know that you'll be able to tell how bad my skill set is from 20 paces. Now, I'm thinking things might just be all right.
