I'd first like to thank everyone that donated items to help my students build--just to recap for those new folks. I teach at a local high school and was approached by the science dept to help a team of students build a guitar for the Science Olympiad. Through the generous help of many OLF members, we completed the guitar. I only offered instruction--the students built and assembled everything. It turned out very nice and the students took 5th place and will not move on to the state competition, but they are very happy and some expressed a desire to continue building--so, mission accomplished!
This les to a group of my JROTC cadets (thats what I teach) wanting to build as well. I have a group of 8 cadets that live and breath guitar. The extra materials will be used to accomodate those builds. It like hearding cats, but very rewarding. Anyway we can spread our craft to the next generation is worth every minute of frustration.
I will get some pics of the build posted very soon--I have to be careful, as our school has policy of not posting pictures of students on the web. I'll get some pics on the OLF very soon.
Thans again for all the help, it could not have been done without you folks!

Very, very cool! And kudo's to those who donated to this project. Having even a small hand in passing a trade from one generation to another is a very special thing. [:Y:]

Very Cool Scott. You should be very proud (as I think you are). I'm certain those students will remember you forever.

I look forward to seeing the pics of the finished guitar.
