For those of you in the great northwest, the 2008 Handmade Musical Instrument Show is fast approaching. It's a nice show with a variety of instrument types held on the beautiful Marylhurst College campus.

Just thought I would give this topic a bump, since the show is this coming weekend.

Charles, what an honor it was to meet you at the Miami show! You build some VERY impressive guitars also!!!!

Wish I could make this show, but right now I am busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. Maybe next year. I have discussed the idea of doing more shows next year with my wife and right now she is all for it. If they have this show again next year, I'm pretty sure it will be on my list of places to go. I have always wanted to go to Oregon!

Great to meet you too Ken. By all means make the trek one day.
The show here is small and very intimate. It's a great way to really play some instruments and meet the builders in a very relaxed atmosphere. I think we guitar makers tend to forget that there's a whole world of lutherie out there (mandolins, violins, cellos, ouds, bozoukis, ......) This show has a wonderful cross section of handmade examples.

I looked at going to this show last year but ended up not being able to make it. If I'm lucky I may get the blessing to take the drive down on Sunday. I hope to see you there!

Hey Charles! It was great to meet you and your wife! I will definitely be getting some of your bindings for future use. If anyone has seen the BeauGuard here online... trust me, pictures don't do it justice, when you see it up close and personal it is way cool stuff. I had a good time walking through the show today, and it was nice to talk with so many great builders. GD, it was good seeing you again and I hope the show was a success for everyone! Sorry I forgot my camera so it is no use asking for pictures .
