I was just surfing Zootman Bob's web site http://www.rctonewoods.com/ and he has just added some beautiful ribbon stripped Sapele at the best price that I have ever seen. $38 per set or 3 sets for $100!!!!! And this stuff is beautiful and first quality wood.

Needless to say I am snagging some up right now. :D

I'm building with Ribbon Sapele right now. It works and bends a lot like much of the mahogany I've used.

Uncle Bob may have more that is not up on the site. When we visited him in February I would guess that less than 10% of his stash is on the site. I would recommend contacting Bob and asking what he has for you and I suspect that you will be very pleased with the results.

Around half the guitars that I have ever built were with zoot/wood from Zootman Bob. And I have always been thrilled with what he sends me. Bob understands the concerns of builders very well and this is a labor of love for him and it shows. He is a great man who has dedicated his efforts to bringing builders the finest woods available at very affordable prices.

Currently I am building an all Zootman guitar with Bob's Cuban mahogany and a German top from Bob. Also these days when I order form Bob I just ask him to pick out something for me and never even ask for pics any more. I always receive wood that is beyond my high expectations and the service is the finest on the planet.

BTW the same holds true for Don Williams - we are VERY lucky OLFers to have such very fine friends and sponsors.
