Looks very nice. I don't agree about the volute, I like it,however, it looks as if the first and sixth string tuners were moved a little farther from the nut and keep the spacing from tuner to tuner the same it would balance the headstock a little nicer. They look a little to close but it could be the angle from where the picture was taken. Feels good playing something you made, doesn't it! Very nice indeed! Clinton

Are you happy with the sound?

I'm on my first build (a dread) too and looks like it will be 8 months of PT also.

I have routed to shape but not glued on my ebony headplate and wondering if it is better to do an inlay on it before or after I glue it on?

I like your pick gaurd. Where's ya get it?

The guitar sounds great so far...exceeds all of my expectations and fears.
( I was convinced I'd string it up and it would just play and sound awful).
I'm no expert (clearly), but I think it'll be easier to glue the headplate veneer on prior to doing any inlay.
In fact, I think most people just glue the veneer on oversize, prior to shaping it or the headstock.
Leaves more room for error that way.
Now that you've shaped your veneer, I guess you'll just have to be extra cautious when gluing up...no biggie.
Doing the inlay on the headstock ensures that you get things centered etc.

The pickguard is Tortis.
I got mine from LMI, but I think they're available in a few places.
It is really nice...highly recommended.
