Anybody know of one. Even my smallest is too unwieldy in the waist area.

I can do almost everything with a 5" ROS, but by hand you can wrap sandpaper around a piece of thick PVC, and that works well...or you can get one of those tube sanders that you put into your cordless drill. I have one of those, and it's terrific. Mine came from grizzly.

That's my .02

Bill

Some of yoose guys are funny guys. Might try the 9 volt idea.

Seriously! This is a need needing filling. I know dremel makes a contour sander. But not up to this task. I am thinking about attaching a sponge that has been rounded to my palm sander (looks like a small iron) and mounting sandpaper to that. And before you purists go knocking me, throw your table saw in the trash... I don't have one of those (yet).

Actually, I thought a spindle sander might be right, but I have changed my mind. Not for a super smooth finish.

Mike ;)

TODAY is my birthday...and the wife got me the 7" long one! bliss

You can get the sandpaper sleeves down to 320 grit. Once I've used up a sleeve, I'm going to wrap it with velcro tape, then I'll be able to stick ROS discs and Abralon pads on it that'll get me down to 4000 grit. [:Y:]

I've got the tube sander, but I find that using a scraper followed by final sanding with the "sandpaper wrapped around a cork wrapped dowel" works the best for me. I like the fine control possible when sanding by hand.
