I'll add my welcome too Geordie. It's true, they're a pretty nice bunch here, so stick around. I can't, to my shame, say I know Scotland, even though I'm a Yorkshireman and lived in Yorkshire for the first 45 years of my life. The furthest north we seem to get when we come back on holiday is Moffatt. One day we'll do the Grand Tour d'Ecosse.
They do say there are similarities between Yorkshire and Scotland. Apparently a Yorkshireman is like a Scot... but without the generous streak!
But all this talk of Scotland and single malts has given me a thirst so here's to your very good health (I have a glass of Laphraoaig before me as I type) and "lang may yer lumb reek".

Welcome, Geordie. I'll actually be traveling to N. Ireland and Scotland in a couple months. I was married/honeymooned in N. Ireland but I've never been to Scotland. In N. Ireland, my wife will be assisting with a graduate studies team from our local university for about a week and then we'll take off on our own to see Scotland. We're going to spend a little bit of time in Edinburgh and also take a few days guided tour up to Skye and back. My wife and I have had Scotland on the brain for a few months as we've been planning our trip. I've been watching Braveheart over and over to get an accurate version of Scottish history [cough].

Scotland is a place that I have always wanted to visit and still plan to someday. You are the home of two of my favorite things, one of which I no longer partake of but there is still g*lf.........

Hi Geordie and welcome - I'm pretty new to this place but people are really nice and helpful... Do you have a web link you your course in Glasgow? There aren't many in the UK and I couldn't find it on the college website.
