I was looking in the Benedetto book. He has a small diagram of a neck profile with measurements, but some of the angles are not really accounted for. How do I go about reproducing this? He also has 4 1/2 degrees listed for the neck angle. He makes it confusing to tell where this angle starts. There is a symbol shown after the number but once again, it's confusing. Without showing the illustration it's hard for me to explain each point exactly. So I was wondering if some of you guys could share some methods/tips with me.

I also read the chapter about fitting the neck to the body. He uses a jig he made to get the fit and alignment right. However, he doesn't explain how to make it and gives no measurements or anything. I would appreciate if anyone is willing to share any of their neck profile templates and/or alignment templates. I saw a picture of D'Aquisto using a similar jig in the Iriving Sloane book.

Hi Jack,
The "jig" they are using is really a gauge. It justs lets you know that the bridge is going to be at a prescribed height.So lets say that you want your bridge at 1" above the top,you make a stick that gives you that height. There are severall two main factors that determine the bridge height:neck angle, and neck extension depth. Don't get too hung up on what the exact angle is.
The 4-1/2 degree angle Bennedetto is refering to is measured at the heel.
