I have an iPhone and use it. It works pretty well. I think the mobile version could be worth the effort.

Hey Don...tell us what you really think! laughing6-hehe

I happen to agree...we still haven't resolved the new software / login issues. I would recommend getting the current situation fixed before considering something new to occupy the resources.

I am really just doing homework ahead of time. I know we still have a few issues, appearently the log in bug still lives. But this post is about a mobile version and if you would your would not use it. Its not a post asking how to best spend the OLF resources.

Thanks for the suggestions anyway ;)

Just as long as he doesn't sit in the corner in the bu................ Whoops! Hesh did you do that????

How did you get in here?

Sorry Lance and Brock, and Joe.

Who Who who who let the Hesh out?

As one who is actively trying to keep from entering the crackberry world, I vote no.

Technology is great as a tool. However, when, as I have observed on numerous occasions, it interferes with human interaction personally it goes too far. I go to meetings where a speaker is trying to make a presentation and half of the audience is working on their mobile device. I think it is just plain rude. Now, Lance, I know you wouldn't do that! [:Y:]

I even have to fight the tendancy to answer my cell phone when I am in a conversation with another.

However, as has been said, "if you can't beat them, join them!" :D

I'm in agreement with Joe and Grumpy. The login issues with browsers other than IE need to be looked at. There is something about the cookie that gets baked at login time that FireFox just doesn't like, which is kind of weird as php is a *nix development platform rather than a Micro$oft platform. Anyways, I'd stabilize and sort it out before adding features.

Strangely, tonight was the first time I have been kicked off. That because of the cookie work the developers are doing, I suspect. And, I have only used Firefox as a browser in Windows XP.

Thanks!

I would not use it on a plane,
I would not use it on a train.
I would not use it on a whim,
I would not use it at the gym!
I would not use a crackberry,
not when I work nor when I pee.
So even if 'twas great and free,
A mobile site means nought to me...

I does not own a blackberry or other mobile device. But I do think having a mobile version is still a good idea for all those that do. ^^

The only thing I remember from historical accounts about the day Rome burned to the ground was the fact that Nero played the violin. And while this survey might in fact have a lot of merit, it's clear that it could have been better timed! I'd listen to the customers until they are convinced that everything is being done to correct THEIR problem with OUR site.

Sorry for being so direct...but I call it as I see it! And right now, this thread causes a perception problem, and in the world of customer relations "Perception is Reality".

Sorry JJ, but when I posted this thread it was prior to the "cookie" adjustment.
At that time, sure there were still a few folks that I had to fix each week, I suspect I will
always have to help folks with log in issues. I mean there are so many variables as to why someone
cant log in or register that its impossible to cover them all. For example, some people have there browser settings
set to not except image downloads, and they email be asking why they cant see the "confirmation code" just a red X in a white box.

Regardless of all that, I still did just ask a simple question, now this thread has dissolved into something completely different and has
lost its purpose.

No, I would not use a mobile version. I don't think it's a good idea at this time either technically or commercially.

I did notice that when the system doesn't log me in correctly, I can vote again.

I would love to see this... works ok already on an iPhone, but it sure would be nice to have a mobile format that is more concise...
