Ken,
The best price I've seen for the self-adhesive golpeadors is here:
http://www.stringsbymail.com/acsub.asp? ... olpeadoresThere is a school of thought that the self-adhesive golpeadors do have some damping effect because the adhesive never solidifies. I don't have the test equipment to prove or disprove this theory. Perhaps our mentor, Alan Carruth would offer an opinion.
You can use those or you can pick up a sheet of .010" clear plastic at any good art supply store and cut out your own and glue it with a diluted solution of Elmer's. Keep it thin enough so it doesn't look milky. The nice part about using the Elmer's is that it is reversible without a significant degree of finish damage to the top if it ever has to be replaced.
Yes I did carve the headstock. I'm glad that you like it but I can't take any credit for the design, it is a direct copy of a Jeronimo Pena Fernandez headstock. It is carved from poplar and I did it as a practice exercise a few years ago. Here is a photo of a real Pena Fernandez headstock:
Good luck with your flamenco.
