I guess I'm the only one from OLF going.

Report to follow...

Dave,

I sent you a PM last night, but that part of the site doesn't seem
to be working right now.

I've seen your postings here a few times and its nice to know
there's another OLFer somewhat nearby; I live in Palo Alto, quite
near to Gryphons Stringed Instruments, if you've ever been there.
Do you know of any other S Bay folks?

And I frequent Global Wood Source, too. Fun place to browse.
I don't know why anyone would pay the amazingly higher prices
at S**th*rn Lumber elsewhere in San Jose.

Are you a hobbyist or do you sell instruments (your website implies
the latter)? Is NCAL appropriate for someone like me who's a pure
hobbyist (and, frankly, still working on basic competency)?

Cheers,

Eric

Hi Eric,

The meetings are totally appropriate for hobbyists. The topics run the gamut. Yesterday we toured a saw shop, saw how saws are sharpened, talked about router bits, etc. Pop me an email and I'll add you to the email list. We meet bi-monthly all around the northbay. My email address is listed on the NCAL website, ncluth.org.

We're planning a BBQ with music in July in Napa if all goes well. In September we hope to be in Santa Cruz, then at LMI in November.

Natalie
