 Post subject: Classical neck shaping

This is my first guitar. I have attached (with double stick tape) two aluminum guides to the headstock to keep me from removing too much material while shaping the neck/headstock profile.
While this is not standard procedure, I find that it gives me the confidence to proceed on this critical operation. I may not have to do this when I build my second guuitar.

The neck is made of Black Walnut.
I copied the Ramirez headstock because I like it, and have no artistic ability to create one that looks good.

My guess is “Purpleheart”. It Looks great. Has anyone ever tried using it for a neck before?
