Greetings from Ontario Canada! Bob C was nice enough to let me know about this forum when he sold me some wood a few weeks ago. I am glad he did. It will be nice to have a group of people to bounce ideas off of. I am fairly new to the world of guitar building. I have been building for one year and am just now completing my 5th instrument (I have 4 more on the go). There are a few picture on my web site if anyone is interested. Thanks again Bob for the great wood! Its going to make some really beautiful instruments.

Hi Josh, welcome. I'll spend some time looking at your site, congratulations for getting the building bug. I only know one guy who is strong enough after building a couple guitars to quit building.

Sergei De Jonge is fairly well known, you were privileged to have the expertise. Look forward to getting to know you.

P. S. The pic above is linked only and loaded from your site, just in case you are wondering....

Josh,

Welcome! Wow, great looking guitars. I checked out your website, and was impressed with your craftsmanship. What finish are you using on your guitars?

Jeff

Josh I really like this one. Can you tell us all the materials you used? Thanks, Bruce

Oh, we are just linking to pics on your website, they really are not on this site.

Hey everyone, thanks for the warm welcome.

Jeff
I am currently using the ColorTone products from StewMac for finishing. It took me 3-4 guitar to get used to it but I am now getting a very acceptable finish. I have some KMT-9 on the way and will be giving that a try in the near future. My decision to use these products is because I have a small one room shop. I do not have room for a proper spray booth which would be needed to deal with nitro. I am just finishing a Cocobolo/Sitka guitar using the ColorTone and the finish turned out great! Maybe I will get a picture up when its done.

Bruce
The guitar you like is a walnut back & sides with a cedar top. The binding is curly maple and the rosette is snakewood. The bridge is Macassar ebony.

Josh

Hi Josh
Glad to see you made it here. Welcome aboard. It certainly was my pleasure to have you buy some of my wood. Great looking guitars Josh. Very nice workmanship. Feel free to post away. The guys here are more than happy to answer any questions, but from the looks of your work I think we'll be asking you.

Hey great looking guitars, Josh. Welcome to OLF. It's good to see another Canadian join our ranks. There is much to learn and glean from the chatter here on the forum. You get to see nice guitars and find deals, even get to give advice. It's a nice place to be.

Welcome aboard Josh,

But you gotta stay away from that Bob Cefalu, he'll bankrupt you.
