OK, I am down to the very last part. The base for the router. My router just arrived. Bosch PR20. The original drawings surely were for a smaller router, the base on my router is almost 4"x4". I do not forsee ant real problems in making it. But it will be wider than the board it mounts to on the parallelogram arms. Question is, has anybody else mated the PR20 to the Williams Binding Cutter? Any issues? Any thoughts about the layout of the base?

As it stands right now, I only have one piece of aluminum that comes close, a 4" wide by 1/4" thick plate. The drawing suggests 3/16" thick.

Thought I'd bump this up for ya, Mike. The PR20 is the Colt, right? I think several people here have one of those. Somebody oughta be able to help you.

I asked a machinist friend of mine for a reference and found a shop less than 2 miles from my home. This guy has EVERYTHING. Cnc this and that. As a favor to my friend and me, he's gonna finish the mounting bracket. The aluminum is T6 and difficult to work with never mind the large bore & counter needed. He said no money, but I'm gonna stop at the KFC and buy him a gift card for lunch.

LMI cutter & bearings showed up today, so I am almost ready to test her out.

PS: Seems I ordered two sets of acura slides from woodcraft. If anybody wants them, I will sell for 20% off woodcraft total (price, & S&H) if it is possible. I just do not need an extra set.

I mounted my Bocsh Colt off the back side of the base NOT the bottom. On the Colt routers there is a hole and small keyway on the backside that is for mouting accessories and such. It makes for a nice mounting method. If you are interesed I will take a few pics later and post.

id like to see some pics of that please. hadnt crossed my mind. although if you build it that way, you cant use the dave white addition of the lazy susan under the lam trimmer. ill be doing it that way, but i thought yours was a good idea as well.

Here are some pics of how I mounted my Bosch Colt router to my binding jig. This will just give you some different ideas that may work well depending upon your jig design. I originally was going to mount it on the bottom but once I purchased the router it just seemed like mounting on the back would work well. This type of mount is not very difficult but I did have to use a milling machine to mill the slot and drill the mounting holes. It was probably no more than 1 hour of work but you do need acccess to a mill.













Overall I am pleased with the result and the mount is very rigid.
