Curious how your experience went. We want details! Highlights!

Thanks...

Don,
Maybe everyone went on vacation after the show. idunno

My wife Jean and I had a terrific time. A huge highlight for me was meeting so many great people that happen to make guitars. Bernie Lehmann was behind my table and as I was setting up he introduced himself by saying, “Oh, you work with wood too?”. :D
Shelley Park with her gypsy jazz guitars was directly across from us and kept a steady flow of interested jazz players trying out her guitars. Next to Shelley was Rick Davis and Cat from Running Dog guitars. It was a pleasure to get to play Ricks guitars and they were generous with sharing a few building tips as well.
It was a busy show, traffic wise. I ran through a bunch of business cards. Not a lot of sales as far as I could tell though. Although, I wasn’t paying too much attention, some could have occurred the last hour of the show.
With all the action going on, it was difficult to wonder too far for too long. I had Jean to watch my table though and managed to meet and chat with Lance, Brock, Andrew White and Paul Woolson too. Congrats to Paul for being one of the chosen to build a guitar for “The Ste Cat permanent guitar collection”. [clap]
Everyone and every thing about the show was top notch!
Personally, I had a great, learning experience and am already planning a new build for next year.

Wade

My wife and I did go on vacation after the show, which was a lot of fun but we had a great time at the show too. I didn't make any sales but I had a number of interested players looking at and playing my guitars. It was great to meet some OLFers I had only known from posts and talk with the other luthiers. Without stealing any ideas there was a lot of work to draw inspiration from and make me think about new directions for my work.

The crowd was steady all three days but Sunday the numbers weren't as big. It was a knowledgeable crowd too. There wasn't any crush like Healdsburg which was good. The little quiet cubicles were convenient. I know of one player who bought a Michael Bashkin guitar but I really didn't hear of any other sales, though there may have been some. Marc Beneteau next to me might have sold one. Everything was well coordinated including free shows to Antione Dufour, Pierre Bensusan and others. Then there were the free beer tickets! :D Maybe I shouldn't have been but I was surprised by the number of gypsy jazz guitars.

Montreal was great overall. The Jazz Festival was huge and the the people were all very friendly. I'll go back again if I can swing it.
