I have 28 pieces of paua abalam that range from .056 wide to .075 wide, these are off cuts that I made while setting up my jig. There all 5.5" long, and match stewmacs cruved strips in color perfectly.

Don, it still needs refining but here is the idea.
The table that the shell is clamped to is on drawer slides and it moves the plate across the blade. I just loosen the wing nuts and bumb the shell to the fence, then run it across the blade. Then repeat
