Robbie,
Yep, that's my cordless whizz-banger. It can be the difference between a good day and a bad day. beehive .

Thank's Hesh. Yes sir, I would say I am semi-pro in as much as I put alot of hours in every week in addition to my day job. I am blessed to have a list to work off. It's funny, I have been building these things for 16 years but I still have a hard time refering to myself as a luthier. I have enormous respect for people that can do this and make a living at it. BTW, I love the look of your Black-top guitar. Very classy.

Hey Charlie my friend I am very glad to hear that you are doing well. The garden sounds like it is getting productive too.

Be sure to post some pics of your new digs when you have time to do so please?

I thought I would share some of my before and after pics of my shop. My wife and I bought a heritage house in downtown Camrose Alberta built in 1917...way cool house. The garage was pretty much useless as a garage...but great shop potential.

The floor was tough!

I removed the old garage door and framed in a walk in...

I insulated vapour barriered and put in sub floor...

Here is a shot of setting it up...

I put my table saw and delta thickness sander on wheels so I can move them around when I need them. My band saw is in the other side of the shop. I have a delta band saw with a 6" riser block. I can resaw my own wood if necessary. It's a cosy shop but I like it.
Cheers
David

Here is my shop. I have been in a basemnet for the past five years so the windows are gonna make a huge difference. My task for today is drywall mud and tape gaah one of my favorite jobs. I would like to get it over with so I can move everything in and get it organized. Size is 20 x 25'
The slab was poured with radiant floor heat, and the entire shop will be air conditioned as well. I am thinking of storing large peices of wood in an external shed to reduce the ammount of junk and clutter. I really want the shop to be clean and organized and efficient this time. [:Y:]

I showed pictures of my new shop a few months back so this is old news for some of you, but since I have the pictures...

My previous shop had evolved for some years as my building habits developed and as new machinery was added, but I ran out of space and didn't like how some of the work stations were organized. I like to work with hand tools most of the time, and the biggest of my two room shop is more or less dedicated to hand tool work (I had everything crammed in this room before). To keep the main room cleaner, I put most of the large dust producing heavy machines in an adjacent room.

Here's the plan

I have a large central work station that I do most things on

And benches along the walls for more specialized tasks

Nice shop Darrel.

I usually don't show pictures of my shop. Does the word Pigpen mean anything to ya?

Here it is anyway. These were taken about a year ago, but it still looks about the same.

That's my buddy, Django on the floor there.

Separate room not climate controlled, with my zoot. My belt sanders are in here now.

That's it.

Here's my tiny little shop! It's the second bedroom here in my apartment on the East Side of Providence, RI.
