Chuck Hutchison came by with a few army buddies yesterday to McPherson guitars. I showed em around, and chatted for a while. It was a good time. I think Chuck took some pics of the shop so maybe he'll share if anyone is interested.

On a side note. I'm ancient. I officially turned 30 at 8:02 PM yesterday (actually I guess I would have been 30 for a few days if you count leap years). I'm now old. Over the hill. An old man. A grownup???

How did this happen to me!? Sheesh... oh well I guess it was inevitable. Now I gotta start acting like an adult....

Naw that's not happening.. who am I kidding. My two kids...wait..I guess it'll be three kids in a couple months. Wow. Ok Um. Yeah. They will just have to go through life with a big nerd of a dad who still feels young.

Chuck is very cool. Way cooler than me... of course that's not hard to do. He was all in his army fatigues, and his rank is like some pointy bars on top with a round one on bottom and some thingy in the middle. That's the official name of it. I'm pretty sure.

Yep, your old at 30 but look on the bright side. At 50 you get to start reverting back to childhood bliss

You can sing: "I don't want to grow up, I'm an OLF kid" (sung to the Toys R US song....)

Wait till you turn 55! [headinwall] [headinwall]

And I have the 9.75 year old kid to prove that I never grew up!

Chuck, Thanks for serving our country!

John,

Yes, you are getting a few years under your belt. Of course, at 56, I could easily be your daddy. So my fatherly advice is to keep balance in your life. Meet your adult responsibilities head on in an adult manner and balance that with being true to yourself as a person. The one caveat to these thoughts is that I would highly consider giving up rap. I'm sure that anyone who has seen you rap would agree with me. laughing6-hehe Your name always pops in my head when I drive past Riverbank when I'm at Don Pedro.

Remember that inside you still feel the same as time and Mother Nature keep making modifications to your body. So when you look at us older guys be assured we also feel the same so remember that when you see our splits, cracks, and finish crazing.

Phillip

WOW, guys, I still can't believe that I got a special deluxe tour of McPherson Guitars by the one and only John Mayes.
Now John is Wayer Cooler than I am. I saw things in that shop that made my jaws drop. I stood next to a stack of Redwood that was worth three million bucks. Unbelievable.

I am still at Ft. McCoy and will return home the first part of August. I did indeed take lots of pictures and I asked John if he minded if I post a few pictures and he gave me a thumbs up. So, I'll post all I have at that time.

THANK YOU John for letting us interupt your birthday and your work. The guys really appreciate for taking the time and walking us through the shop. It is definetly one of the highlights of any trip we have taken.

One of the greatest values of this forum is the openness of the membership to get together and share thoughts and ideas.

Happy birthday John! I was just reviewing one of your DVD's this morning!
